“Fractured”, 36″x36″, Acrylic on Canvas

There’s a version of ourselves that we show to the world, and then there’s what lies beneath the surface. “Fractured” is about what’s underneath.

This piece wasn’t created effortlessly; it emerged from tension, the kind that builds up when you’re trying to hold everything together. Life can pull you in too many directions, causing you to splinter in places no one can see. You smile, you nod, and you keep showing up, but inside, it’s chaos. It’s as if someone dropped a mirror in slow motion, and now you’re living among the shards.

The truth is, most of us are wandering around feeling fractured. We are not broken or useless. We’re just cracked in a way that makes light come through differently. You lose people, you lose yourself, you regain it, and then lose it all over again. Sometimes you feel too much, and other times, you feel nothing at all. Days blur together, time slips away, and you forget who you were before the world taught you how to survive.

But here’s what I’ve learned through it all: being fractured doesn’t mean you’re failing; it means you’re human.

This painting is jagged, loud, and uncertain because healing is never a quiet process. It’s an explosion of emotions. It’s about fighting the urge to give up and pushing through anyway. It’s choosing to create something beautiful from the ruins.

And the silver lining? Every fracture is an opening, a way for truth to seep in. It allows you to rebuild without pretending that the past didn’t happen.

If you’re feeling fractured, that’s a good sign. It means you’re real. It means you’re still alive in a world that often tries to numb you. Somewhere deep within all that chaos, there’s still color, still fire, still you.

You’re not broken; you’re becoming.
